News 2nd December 2020
We need to inform you that a member of our school community has today tested positive for Covid-19. We have been able to identify those students and staff who have been in close contact with the individual and ensure that they were sent home to self-isolate for 14 days. That close contact group have been advised to self-isolate under advice from Public Health England and we will be contacted directly should any further action need to be taken. If you have not been contacted you do not need to be concerned at this time.
We understand that this situation will naturally create concern, but we would like to reassure students and parents at this time that we have put in place rigorous measures to protect students. We also want to remind everyone to remain vigilant, and if any student has symptoms please do not come in to school and ensure you follow government guidance on self-isolating and testing.
The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) as outlined by the NHS, are:
· a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
· a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
· a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
We will be writing to you at more length tomorrow. Letters have been sent home with all students today and are also available on our school website.
Thank you for your support and patience at this time. After reading all the information supplied, please do get in touch if you have any further queries.
Mrs Jen Jacklin
