KA students wow audiences with Bugsy Malone performances

Students brought the house down last week with their fantastic performance of Bugsy Malone. More than forty students made up the cast, with the performance involving not just acting, but also singing and dancing, as well as throwing a few custard pies!

Students had been busily rehearsing since October last year, as well as helping to build the set, design costumes and props. The musical, set in the 1920s entertained audiences with the cast’s comic timing, lively song and dance numbers and the iconic custard splurge guns. Lead members of the cast included Dylan K as Bugsy Malone, Joanna K as Blousey Brown, Seweryn B as Fat Sam, and Ellie H as Tallulah.

King Arthur’s also held a matinee performance for local primary school children, with pupils from both Wincanton Primary School and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Primary School invited to enjoy the show.

Jen Jacklin, Headteacher said “We are incredibly proud of all the students involved in Bugsy Malone. To master the acting, singing and choreography is very impressive, and the calibre of this show demonstrates that their dedication and hard work has really paid off”.
