Instrumental Lessons
Lessons are available for most instruments including:

• Keyboard/Piano
• Guitar
• Violin/Viola
• Cello/Double Bass
• Clarinet
• Flute
• Saxophone
• Oboe
  Trumpet/Cornet
• French Horn
• Tuba/Trombone
  Drums
• and Singing

All lessons happen during the school day and times are changed each week so students do not miss the same lesson. The cost of all lessons is currently £55 per term (10 lessons) for shared lessons and £100 per term (10 lessons) for individual lessons, payable in advance. Lesson request forms are available from Miss Fletcher.

 

Music Clubs
There are many music clubs available and all of them are free and for fun. There are concerts each term where students can perform.

We currently run:

• String Group
• Folk Group
• Orchestra
• Big Band
• Keyboard Club
• Choir
• and Chamber Choir

Plus many students use the rooms to practice in their own bands and when there is enough interest we run the steel band.

 

 

Music Concerts
Most terms there is at least one concert and often there are more. The regular events include:

• Year 7 Concert in October
• Christmas Concert in December (next year there are plans for a Carol Service in Wincanton Church)
• Music Recital Evening in March
• Summer Concert in July

 

 

Music Trips
We run some trips on an annual basis such as the visit to watch the Schools Prom in November. A music weekend away in a YHA in March or a trip abroad and there is usually a London theatre trip or Opera trip.
